Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that more than 10 crore saplings should be planted this year as well under the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ campaign. Directing the departments concerned, he said that plantation should be carried out in a coordinated manner and proper care of the saplings should also be ensured. He further directed that strict action be taken against personnel found negligent in their duties.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ campaign. During the review, it was informed that more than 7.58 crore saplings have been planted so far. The Chief Minister directed officials to encourage the public to participate in plantation drives during festivals. He also appealed to citizens to plant a sapling in the name of their brother or sister on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. He further said that brothers and sisters who plant saplings on Raksha Bandhan should also be felicitated.
Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources Abhay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister’s Office) Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary Forest and Environment Anand Kumar along with senior officials of the concerned departments were present at the meeting. Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary School Education Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Secretary Rural Development Krishna Kunal along with various officials joined the meeting through video conference.
